Kimberley Pumilia and Michelle Johnston join Bailey Education Group.

We are happy to announce Kimberley Pumilia as our Science Content Manager and Michelle Johnston as our English Learner Project and Content Manager.

Over the years, Kimberley's roles as an elementary literacy interventionist, middle school history, and science teacher, high school biology teacher, consultant for the Illinois State Board of Education, educational consultant at Bailey, and parent to 3 children still in school have allowed her to appreciate the integral role each stakeholder plays in the growth of our young people, as both whole healthy humans and productive citizens, who are all equally valuable and deserving of a bright future. Working at Bailey Education Group has allowed Kimberley to put this personal and professional ethos into action.

Bailey's mission is to improve the lives of all children, and Kimberley is excited to be a part of this in her new position as science content manager. She hopes all of the students with whom Bailey Education Group works are empowered through our services. As Bell Hooks said, "Education is a vocation rooted in hopefulness. As teachers, we believe that learning is possible, that nothing can keep an open mind from seeking after knowledge and finding a way to know." From what Kimberley sees in our young people, she is full of hope for all of our futures.

When Kimberley is not working, she is gardening and cooking with her family, completing the New York Times word games, taking care of her three pets, and traveling. She was recently married; between her and her husband they share 3 perfect children, and life couldn't be better.

Michelle has a bachelor's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi in Foreign Language and Literature with an emphasis in Spanish and a master's degree from Capella University in Educational Leadership. Michelle retired from education after 29 years with the Harrison County School District. During her career, she spent 21 years as a high school Spanish teacher, 3 years as an Instructional Literacy Coach, and 5 years as the District EL Specialist. Michelle is happily married to her husband Frank. They have one son, Trey, who is a Freshman at the University of Southern Mississippi, majoring in Audio Production and minoring in Spanish.

Michelle is so excited to serve our partner districts, EL Instructional Coaches, and EL students. Michelle believes that equipping teachers and coaches with creative strategies linked to language acquisition is essential to the success of all.

We are so excited to see Kimberley and Michelle achieve wonderful things in their roles.
